A Different Medium

Art comes in many forms. After graduating with a computer art major, i set out to find my own medium. My passion for baking has led me to create edible art. By using Sable Breton(french butter cookie) as a base; Homemade Fondant as canvas; And royal icing as paint; I was able to turn an ordinary cookie into an extraordinary delight!

Butter cookies are not known for their sweetness, but rather for their rich, creamy, aromatic buttery taste. I believe pairing it was much sweeter mediums like fondant and royal icing produces a beautifully balanced palate. In the cookies recipe, I used organic butter, organic unbleached flour, and organic coconut flour. The coconut flour doesn’t alter the taste or the texture of the cookies. Using organic butter, however, creates a much richer, creamier, and sweeter flavor than of regular butter. After all, isn’t that what a butter cookie is all about, the buttery goodness? Enjoy!
